    Soft machining

    Turning and hobbing from 16MnCr5 case-hardening steel. Every batch stays traceable via its heat number.

Case study

38 % faster cycle time on the same motor

A southern German builder of cartoning machines arrived with what looked like a motor problem: format adjustment wasn't settling cleanly on target, and at higher cycle rates the axis kept oscillating.

Measurement on our test bench showed it wasn't the drive but the backlash in the existing gearbox that was limiting the control loop. With the HGX range and an adapted output shaft, the controller could be tuned far more aggressively.

We spent three months blaming the controller. In the end it was two arcminutes of backlash.
